Deacon and Nick could never quite get on the same page until they decided they really wanted to have kids. The problem with that was there was no commitment and tons of confusion and hurt feelings. Deacon didn't want his sexuality to be placed in a box and Nick had a history of men using him and discarding him. I laughed when Xander turned out to be the voice of reason in Deacon and Nick's relationship after all the craziness he put his brother through. Thomas' story is a long time coming and I have a feeling it's epically hilarious.'I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
Nick returns to town for his high school reunion, the tenth, feeling like he is not living his best life. Things have not gone as he hoped and he is homeless, without a job and not in a relationship. Deacon, who Nick thought was straight but he is not really all the way straight, was someone Nick crushed on when he was younger. Nick winds up telling Deacon that he had nowhere to go and Deacon invites him to share his place. They wind up sharing more than that but Deacon is having a time being okay with being open about how he feels about Nick. Will Deacon's reticence to be who he is and with who he wants to be with make life for him, Nick and the child they are creating not a possibility? Another good read from Carter's Crossing.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed the characters and the tribulations and trials that they went through before finally admitting and finding them selves where they needed to be absolutely amazing
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Carter's Crossing series. In this book, Nick is an omega who recently was dumped by an alpha and was left homeless and broke. Nick returned to Carter's Crossing to attend his high school reunion and he didn't know where he was going to go afterward. Nick was good friends with Xander and had a huge crush on Xander's brother Deacon, but Deacon was straight. Deacon knew about Nick's crush and while he was babysitting Xander's son so Xander could go to the reunion, he asked Xander to send him a picture of Nick. After the dance, Xander and Nick went back to Xander's house and Nick stayed talking to Deacon and having a drink. When Deacon mentioned the crush, he also told Nick he was not exactly 100% straight. Deacon had a boyfriend in college, but it ended badly and Deacon decided he was straight and belonged with a woman. When Deacon asked Nick about his job and living situation, Nick confessed he had nowhere to go. Deacon offered Nick a place to stay and helped him get a job at the brewery. They were like roommates and enjoyed living together. When Deacon mentioned his attraction to Nick again, they acted on their attractions. Deacon began to question who he was and what he wanted. Nick wanted to be with Deacon, but he wanted him to commit to being with him. When they purposely didn't use protection because they both wanted a baby, Nick knew deacon had to make a decision. Deacon wanted to be with Nick and their baby, but he still questioned himself and what people would think. I liked this book. I liked Nick, i like how he really knew he loved Deacon, but he also knew he had to be able to stand on his own in case Deacon decided he could be with him. I thought Nick was very understanding and patient, even if it hurt him. Deacon loved Nick, but he was so worried about what people would think and he needed to realize what mattered was his own happiness. Another good one in a good series. Well done.
Omega's Crush is the story of Nick and Deacon. Nick heads back to his hometown for a reunion after losing his job, his boyfriend, and his home. Hanging out with his old friends leads to meeting Deacon again, the boy he had a crush on in high school. When Deacon finds out Nick is homeless, he gives him a place to stay. Though Nick still finds Deacon attractive, Deacon has always been straight, right? Deacon always had a dream of marrying a woman and having the perfect family, but meeting Nick again makes him question his dream. Soon he is being swept away by passion and, in a moment of shared dreams and passion filled decisions, they forgo protection. But is Deacon really ready to be in a relationship with a man or did Nick rush into a bad relationship again?Good book. Lots of emotion, some humor, and very little drama. Nick is a lovable character, but Deacon leaves something to be desired. I really did not like him in this book, though he seemed fine in the previous book. He seemed to care more about what other people thought of him and less about what Nick thought of him. He pulled Nick into a relationship but did not want anyone to know, not even the doctor! I just wanted to smack him. Meanwhile, Nick was so understanding, giving him plenty of time to decide what he wants. I just felt so bad for Nick. However, it was a good story with great supporting characters. It was a quick read and a good addition to the series. I recommend it.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nick's life is in the toilet. He loses his boyfriend, home, and job all at the same time. With no where to go in Charlotte, he returns to Carter's Crossing in time for his 10 year class reunion. At the reunion he reconnects with his beastie Xan. Back in the day Nick had a major crush on Xan's brother Deacon. When Xan finds out Nick's situation some how Deacon offers to take him in for a while.Deacon is in major denial about his bi-sexuality. They develop a relationship of sorts. Both want children however when Nick gets pregnant Deacon must come to terms with his sexuality and if he wants to continue letting other people's perception of him rule his lifeDeacon's wishy washy personality drove me crazy, I just wanted to tell him to s$#t or get off the pot.I received an ARC via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
